first visit at base camp

Your first appointment at Base Camp is a 1-hour comprehensive initial assessment, one-on-one with your clinician. The goal of the first visit is to pinpoint why you are experiencing pain, identify any movement limitations, and get you started towards a life not limited by pain.

The Base Camp 3 Step Process

Step 1

free consultation and initial assessment

Free consultation to make sure we can help you, followed by a comprehensive assessment to get to the route of your pain and limitations

Step 2

custom pain-to-performance plan

Get a customized plan with guidance the entire way to get you out of pain as fast as possible

Step 3

back to adventures unlimited by pain

Get back to running, mountain biking, skiing, paddling, gardening, or whatever goal you want next, unlimited by pain!

The Initial Assessment:

The comprehensive first visit is composed of 3 parts.

Part 1: History where your clinician will learn more about you, your injury, and any other health concerns

Part 2: Physical and Functional exam where your clinician identifies the cause of your pain and movement limitations

Part 3: Plan and Treatment, where you and your clinician work together to come up with a plan to get you out of pain and back to doing what you love.

By the end of the first visit you will know:

  • What the cause of your pain is

  • How long it will take to get out of pain

  • What your treatment plan will look like, including the duration and frequency of visits

  • What it will take to keep your pain from coming back

Our Standards of Care

Patient-centered appointments to make sure all of your questions are answered and we have plenty of time to work through and beyond your injury.

On time. Always. Don’t expect to hang out in our waiting room (unless you want to) because we value your time.

We provide a custom plan specifically designed to meet your goals. A mountain biker won’t have the same program as a runner.

We prioritize transparency in what you pay. Our prices are easy to understand.

FAQs

What are follow-up appointments like?

Our follow-up sessions are 30-60 minutes long. During these sessions, we will have enough time to recap what has occurred since the previous session, re-evaluate any movements or new problems, progress your treatment plan and exercise program, and provide you with the next steps in your recovery.

Why the long appointments?

We value your time. Instead of coming back to our office several times per week, we spend more time answering your questions and working directly with you to aid in your recovery. We want you to feel confident in understanding your body and how to reach your goals.

We designed a style of treatment that we want for our own care!

Does insurance cover chiropractic services?

Insurance coverage for chiropractic care will depend on your specific plan, but typically your insurance company will cover a portion of care or a specific dollar amount.

what should i wear?

It is important to wear loose clothing that you might wear to a gym. We do soft tissue work on most patients and this style of dress makes that work much more comfortable for you. At Base Camp, we believe that movement, training, and loading during your appointment is necessary so that you can develop preparedness to engage in what you love and reduce the risk of your injury coming back.

Do I need a referral for Chiropractic?

Nope. You can come see us whenever you want.

How do I know if my issue is ‘bad enough’ to see a chiropractor? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time

No issue is too small or insignificant. The truth is if it is interrupting your lifestyle in any way or you are feeling uncertain about what is going on, then there is value in getting an assessment to gain confidence in the diagnosis and have a detailed management plan. We advocate for this proactive approach because issues left to linger tend to become more complex with time.
