Sarah, Trail Runner
I reached out to Mark late last year for help with knee pain that was keeping me from doing the things I love (backpacking, hiking). I saw other physiotherapists without success, but seeing Mark totally changed everything. He’s engaged and passionate about healing, and he makes you feel very heard as a patient. Now, as my knee issues continue to resolve, we’ve transitioned from injury recovery and into a program for a current law enforcement application process. I went from hardly running at all to reaching my 10k and 12k benchmarks in decent time. Would recommend him to anyone! Thanks, Mark.

Thomas, Ultrarunner
After over a year with the same glute and knee niggle, I wanted to try a different approach than a traditional chiropractor. Within the initial consultation, Dr Mark was able to pin point areas other chiropractors hadn't and create a plan forward. After following the rehab plan and some great in person session with Dr Mark, I was able to get back running pain free after only a few months!

Dawn, Runner
I went to see Mark after struggling with rotator cuff pain for over a year. My goal was to be ready for cross-country ski season, and he exceeded my expectations. He was knowledgeable, understanding, and proactive in his approach. In just a month, I saw more improvement than I did in four months of physiotherapy. His targeted treatment and personalized exercises made a huge difference in my recovery. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for effective and results-driven rehab!

Cedrick, Runner
Mark was great at helping me understand my pain and gave me some at-home strategies to help aid in the short and long term healing process. Mark's client-centered approach allowed for treatment that was individualized to my needs and I always felt understood. Would definitely recommend.

Catherine, Mountain Biker
I broke my collarbone and some ribs in a mountain biking accident, the bones healed but after 6 weeks in a sling there was much loss in range of motion and strength. I wanted to get better fast, because…life and a pending multi day mountain biking trip. I was concerned my shoulder wouldn’t be up to the challenge.
I needed a good chiropractor, I’m so grateful I found one!
Dr. Mark’s approach is results oriented.
He is excellent at communicating every aspect of injuries, treatment, and rehabilitation. The combination of injury specific adjusting and exercise speeds up recovery more effectively than some other cookie cutter approaches.
Not only will I be ready for the bike trip, but both of my shoulders will be stronger and more resilient thanks to the program Dr. Mark tailored for me.

Founder of Base Camp Chiropractic & Sports Rehab
I believe life is better when you’re outside. Your life shouldn’t be limited by pain, and taking charge of your health is one of the best investments you can make in yourself. These beliefs shaped the foundation of Base Camp Chiropractic & Sports Rehab, right here in Vernon, BC.
In my previous career as a traditional chiropractor, the model didn’t align with my vision of care. Appointments were short—5 to 10 minutes—and focused mostly on adjustments. There was no time to truly connect with my patients, understand the root cause of their injuries, or work toward their goals.
At Base Camp, we do things differently. I count myself lucky to work with the skiers, mountain bikers, runners, CrossFitters, and outdoor enthusiasts who make Vernon so unique. Together, we help people not just manage pain but take control of their health and unlock their full potential.
Whether you’re chasing your next summit, conquering trails, or setting personal records, I’m here to help you get there.
See you on the trails,
Dr. Mark
FAQs
What goes into the evaluation?
Our first session is an assessment which typically takes about an hour (both in-person and virtually). In the assessment, we have an in-depth discussion to discover the root causes of your injury and confirm this with a detailed movement exam before we outline a comprehensive program (typically 12-24 weeks).
What about in-person sessions?
Our follow-up sessions are 30-60 minutes long. During these sessions, we will have enough time to recap what has occurred since the previous session, re-evaluate any movements, progress your treatment plan and exercise program, and provide you with the next steps in your recovery.
Who is this program for?
This program is designed for runners of all levels who are tired of dealing with nagging pain, hitting plateaus, or constantly getting sidelined by injuries. Whether you’re returning after time off or trying to build a strong, injury-resistant base, this program is for you.
What makes this program different from other online running plans?
We don’t just give you a generic templated plan—we coach you through it. Our program includes strength training, mobility work, and run programming tailored to your goals and adjusted weekly based on your progress, feedback, and life demands. We want you to LEARN how grow as a runner.
How is the program delivered?
You’ll receive your personalized training plan through TrainingPeaks, with all runs, strength sessions, and recovery work laid out clearly. We check in weekly via text or video (your choice) to adjust and guide your progress.
How much time will this take each week?
We meet you where you’re at! During the evaluation, we will walk through what it will take to reach your goals. These are custom programs to meet your lifestyle and goals.
Does insurance cover chiropractic services?
Insurance coverage for chiropractic care will depend on your specific plan. Typically your insurance company will cover a portion of care or a specific dollar amount. While our evaluations and in-person sessions can be submitted for reimbursement, the running program itself cannot. Some HSA’s will cover the cost of the program.
What equipment do I need?
Just a pair of running shoes and basic strength equipment (like dumbbells, kettlebells or resistance bands). If you have a gym membership, great! Just let us know what you have access to and we build design your plan based on what’s available.
