About Dr. Murdoch:

“Guess who just tore his ACL?”

This was the text I received from my boss, the head Athletic Therapist at my local university in Abbotsford, BC, Canada, where I was working while studying for my Kinesiology degree. One of the up-and-coming star basketball players had torn his ACL during a home game. It was a devastating non-contact injury that would put an end to his season. It was at that point, the moment that I received that text, that I knew I needed more answers.

Only two weeks earlier, I had watched a practice where this same player was taking practice free throws. On each shot, his lead knee would buckle, and he would use the ligaments (not the muscles) to support himself for the shot. After watching this, I sent my boss a text with a video saying “this guy is going to have knee problems”. One month later he was in surgery for an ACL repair.

At the time I was studying for my Kinesiology/Exercise Science degree at the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Once I had finished my bachelor’s degree, I knew that I needed more.

This is what led me to start Chiropractic at the University of Western States in Portland, OR. While I learned a lot while studying for my clinical doctorate in Chiropractic, I knew it was still not enough. This pushed me to pursue a concurrent Masters of Science in Sports Medicine degree, which combined with Chiropractic has helped scratch my itch for knowledge of the human body.

Between working as a strength and conditioning coach, a student athletic trainer, and a chiropractor I have been lucky to be exposed to injuries and conditions well beyond the typical education of most chiropractors.

From low back pain, neck pain, ankle injuries, and headaches, I am proud to say we can help you. If for whatever reason we are not the right clinic for you, I know that we have the skills and knowledge to point you in the right direction.

Dr. Sam Krieg

About Dr. Krieg

I grew up in a small town in Western Colorado. My parents owned a small black angus beef farm. I crossed the mountains to get my degree in Biology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. After school, I took a gap year to work in the mountains.

A friend recommended chiropractic school and without much more than a Google search, I found myself in Portland, Oregon at the University of Western States on the path to becoming a chiropractor. Truth: I’d never even been to a chiropractor.

Right out of school, I landed an incredible job in Gig Harbor, Washington at an integrated sports medicine clinic. But the North was calling, so my partner (Dr. Mark) and I headed to Alaska seeking new adventure and inspiration. After 18 months and many epic stories, we came back down to the Okanagan to open our own clinic.

As I chiropractor, I want people to learn how to take care of themselves. Sometimes all we need to hear is that we are not broken.

I love working with women in all stages of life including prenatal and postpartum.

I’m excited to hear what your goals are and join your health team!

You don’t have to be ‘broken’ to start working on your body or your health.
